Take Stand Up Paddle Board lessons from Alpine Accessories. Lessons and rentals will be offered in the Fox Valley area. Lessons and rentals will be offered 7 days a week at the Three Oaks Recreation Area in Crystal Lake on the North Lake beach from 10am to 4pm. Group lessons will be $40 for 60 minutes which includes dryland instruction and an instructor to go out with you on the water. Or you can go it alone and rent for $25 per hour. We highly recommend you take a lesson your first time out. You can make a reservation and pay at the store or just show up and pay when you get there. SUP Lessons
Includes use of Stand Up Paddleboard, board leash, adjustable paddle, vest, instructor for 20 minutes dry land and 40 minutes of on water instruction.
- 1 hour group lesson – $40.00 per person (up to 4 people)
- 1 hour private lesson – $100
Level 1 Lesson – Learning the basics
Learn how to: handle the paddle properly, get on the paddleboard, kneel on the paddleboard until your paddle stroke is developed, standing up on the paddleboard, basic board paddling and steering, how to fall properly, how to get back on the paddleboard.
Level 2 Lesson – Improving your skills (Level 1 lesson required)
Learn how to: understand the environment and wind to help you paddle more efficiently, improve your stance and your paddle stroke to control your paddleboard more efficient, lean how to handle your board in tight situations. Also learn the differences in Stand Up Paddleboard and paddle technology.
If you want the lesson/rental on your own lake you can schedule a time through the Alpine Accessories store and we will bring all the equipment and the instructor to your doorstep.
SUP Rentals
Includes use of Stand Up Paddleboard, board leash, adjustable paddle, and vest at Three Oaks Recreation Area North Lake. (A level 1 lesson is suggested before renting.)

Each lesson will start out with dry land instructions and safety information before proceeding into the water. Groups with a maximum of four people will be guided by a staff member of Alpine Accessories. You should wear quick dry clothing, water shoes, bring sun lotion and a towel. There will be bins at the pavillion to leave items such as car keys, towels, etc, however we recommend you not bring valuables. If you want to bring your cell phone or mp3 player out with you we have waterproof pouches for sale. You can answer and text through the pouch.
